Goberian

The Goberian is not a purebred dog. It is a cross between the Golden Retriever and the Siberian Husky. The best way to determine the temperament of a mixed breed is to look up all breeds in the cross and know you can get any combination of any of the characteristics found in either breed. Not all of these designer hybrid dogs being bred are 50% purebred to 50% purebred. It is very common for breeders to breed multi-generation crosses.

The Goberian is a designer dog breed (also known as hybrid dog breed). The breed is a cross between the Golden Retriever and the Siberian Husky. Over the years the purchase of Goberian puppies have grown in popularity due to their compatibility with other pets and their love for children. They make fabulous family pets.

Goberians usually have a very thick coat and undercoat and we do typically tend to see them on the higher end of the shedding chart. Daily brushing is required to keep healthy skin and coat (and the hair bunnies off of your floors!). Excersize is of utmost importance for this breed, they should be taken on walks daily and have social interaction with other people and dogs as much as possible.

Goberians are one the larger breeds of dogs. Weight ranges from 50 to 90 pounds at maturity. Average height of an adult goberian is approximately 22 – 24 inches.

Goberians will live for 10-15 years, as they are a larger breed. Although they are a very hardy breed of dog and usually healthy in a general respect, common health ailments inlcude: ear mites, hip dysplasia and obesity.

The cost for a goberian can very greatly. Check your local dog shelter and local classifieds. Shelters typically charge a $50.00 "re-homeing" fee. Local breeders list the puppies from $300.00 to $1,000.00.

Temperament
The Goberian breed of dog is a truly wonderful mixed breed that has the gentle nature of the Golden Retriever and the drive of the Siberian Husky. They are very good with children and tend to have a happy nature that is friendly with everyone. They do enjoy being outside and being active but they also enjoy spending time with their family. The Goberian does have some of the roaming nature of the Siberian Husky so care should be taken in keeping them safe and secure.

Height
The average height of a Goberian is between 21 to 24 inches for males and 20 to 22 inches for females.
Weight:  The average weight of a Goberian is between 45 to 90 pounds for males and 35 to 80 pounds for females, although many average out at 90 pounds.

Health Problems
The Goberian breed of dog has no known health problems, however, the breed can be prone to obesity so it is very important that they receive proper exercise and a healthy diet. For more information on health problems for the breed, you should research both the Golden Retriever and the Siberian Husky.

Living Conditions
The Goberian breed of dog is not recommended for apartments. They can be very active and they do prefer to be outside. They do need a secure fenced yard since the breed will roam if they are given the opportunity to.

Exercise
The Goberian breed of dog is an active breed and does require about 60 minutes of exercise per day. Both of the parent breeds are active dogs and are always happiest when they have something to do. If they don't receive the proper amount of exercise, the Goberian can become destructive and they will find their own way to get out and get exercise.

Life Expectancy
10 to 15 years

Grooming
The Goberian breed of dog requires a fair amount of grooming and you should expect to brush your dog two or three times per week to prevent matting and to remove any dead hair. They should have the hair between their toes trimmed to prevent matting on the feet and the nails should be kept short.

Origin
The Goberian breed of dog is a designer `hybrid`breed that has become popular over the last decade or so, although it is one of the more uncommon hybrids. There is no actual origin for the breed and if you are interested in learning more about the Goberian, it is important to read up on both the Golden Retriever and the Siberian Husky.

  4. I adopted one from a shelter back in October. She's a smaller one, weighing only 38 pounds. But gorgeous! She looks like a baby golden, with the most shockingly blue eyes! And just so sweet. We also have a male border collie/husky who is jet black with tuxedo markings and light brown eyes. They make a great pair. I think husky mixes are the best,
